Today, we get to spotlight another sweet little soul! I didnt get to know Mil, but I feel like I did. Her life impacted ours, even years later. So today on our spotlight, instead of sharing the battle Amelia went through, her mama is just going to tell you about her sweet girl. About the funny, car loving girl🐞
My Millie girl!
She was the light in the darkness. I remember not being able to have another child because of my own health. We were advised to not have another. I remember the feeling of not being able to give ayverie a sibling, and how lonely she would be. She would never have a forever friend.
5 years later, we (Kyle and I) went back to my cardiologist and my midwife. We discussed the options of reconsidering. We were blessed with our Millie Sue april 7th. My whole world felt complete the moment she arrived. Watching ayveries face light up when she met her, i just felt so full.
Amelia SueAnn, was so happy go lucky and a complete mamas girl. From day one our lives revolved around her. She set the bedtime schedule and demanded we be home by 6:45 so we could get her to bed by 7. She ruled the house. At daycare she was the first of three baby’s being born and she felt like she was in charge. I was able to spend every lunch break with her. She was so ornery. She loved hot rods and being everywhere her daddy was. She loved working on cars.
She loved peanut butter and had a peanut butter dance. She would sneak cheez its at daycare and Honey Nut Cheerios. She was such a funny, sassy girl. You had to earn her love, she didn’t just share it. When she was a baby baby, we would tell people she had RBF, “resting baby face” because everyone would come up
And tell us, oh your baby looks sleepy! It was a polite was of saying she looked mean. lol! We already knew. She had some
Serious stank face. Oh my gosh she was funny. She was the queen at making sure you knew you were loved by her. She was just such an old
Gentle soul. Like she had already been here once before and was on a mission but was not here to take any crap.
She kept our house busy, loud, and always on our toes. Our Millie Sue was one we had to say, nope not getting a pool because she loved water SO much. We found her playing in the toilet, not just playing but actually INSIDE of it fully clothed. She was the wild one you had to
Keep an eye on. She was so smart.
I could go on and on. There is so much I’m
Missing but to be Millie’s momma is the greatest gift. When she was DYING, I was crying and she could not move because she was to physically sick, she motioned her doctor to get me a kleenex and didn’t want mommy to be sad. She was so loving. Her and daddy had the cutest “secret daddy hugs” her and ayverie share a lifetime of funny memories and things that only siblings know about, and I’m so grateful for those.
Kyle & Chelsie formed @Millie's Might Foundation, and they've done some really amazing things. When Luke was in his last weeks, they drove from an hour away to bring us meals and anything else we needed. @Chelsie was such a big support for me. When we were going through it. She let me ask her some really hard questions and was there for every single step. What they did for us, really inspired us kicking off the foundation. Ben and I knew it was something we wanted to do, but they really helped us make that first step. We are so thankful to have them in our corner and today, do something in honor of Millie. Say yes, sit at your dinner table and play some cards, or eat ice cream for dinner. 🎗🫶
