Meet the Board: Rachel Smith – Vice President You may have noticed…

🦖💚 Meet the Board: Rachel Smith – Vice President 🧡

You may have noticed this post took a little longer than the rest...

That's because Rachel is the one who runs our Facebook page, and she absolutely refused to post about herself. That's just who she is; always putting everyone else first.

If you've ever received a message from Luke's Legacy Foundation, followed one of our Facebook posts, or connected with us online, you've probably met Rachel.

As Vice President, Rachel is the heart behind much of what our community sees every day. She manages our Facebook page, communicates with families, helps organize events, and keeps our mission moving forward. While many of us work behind the scenes, Rachel is usually the one building relationships, sharing Luke's story, and being the face people come to know.

🦖 Rachel is also our dreamer.

She has a million ideas for ways we can help families, create memories, and brighten someone's day. Our running joke is that Rachel dreams faster than the rest of us can keep up. 💚 Every time one idea gets written down, three more take its place. As Luke's Legacy Foundation grows, our hope is that we'll one day have the opportunity to turn every one of those dreams into reality.

A few fun facts about Rachel:

🦖 Favorite "food": Energy drinks... specifically sugar-free Red Bulls, affectionately known in our house as "Chungie Lights." 💚

📚🦜 Favorite hobby: Reading and birding.

🧡 Favorite memory with Luke:"Hard to pick just one. The day he was born definitely is in the tops. Dr. Spears laid that big ol' chunk on my chest, and I had never felt so complete. Luke came out with dark hair, olive skin and was everything I had prayed for. He had the grumpiest little face, and I knew he was meant for me." 🦖

💚 What she's looking forward to most with Luke's Legacy Foundation:"Keeping Luke's story alive, and making a difference in the lives of all families. Not just families facing cancer, but everyone. Life is so short and Luke taught me that every day truly does matter. I want to help people make the most of it."

That heart is exactly what makes Rachel who she is. She's selfless, compassionate, and constantly looking for ways to serve others. Luke's Legacy Foundation simply wouldn't be what it is without her, and we're so thankful for the countless hours, endless ideas, and immeasurable love she pours into this mission every single day.

Thank you, Rachel, for dreaming big, loving deeply, and helping us build brighter tomorrows, one family at a time. 🦖💚
