If someone you love has a child diagnosed with cancer, you probably won't know what to say.
That's okay.
You don't need the perfect words.
Bring dinner.
Send the DoorDash card.
Mow their yard.
Take their other child somewhere fun.
Sit beside them.
Remember the important dates.
Keep checking on them after the initial flood of support slows down.
And don't say, “Let me know if you need anything.”
They're overwhelmed. They probably don't even know what they need.
Instead say, “I'm bringing dinner Tuesday. What time works?”
Sometimes the greatest thing you can do for a family going through the unimaginable is simply remove one decision from their plate.
You can't fix it.
But you can make sure they don't walk through it alone. 💛
During Luke's long battle, people bringing dinner was the biggest help. Not just because we didnt have to cook, but because decision fatigue is SO REAL. There was a time I couldnt even make a grocery list, because if it wasnt a life or death situation my brain just wouldnt let me think of things that were normal. The biggest thing is showing up. Keep showing up.
Thank you so much to Lukes army, who went above and beyond for us.
